Environmental Impact Assessment

Environmental Impact Assessment involves a structured and integrative system of studies (desktop, field and modelling) that culminate in a report (known as an Environmental Impact Statement, EIS) that essentially provides a prediction of the impacts of a development, mitigation measures in place to reduce impacts, monitoring plans and adaptive measures that will be taken to respond to monitoring.

Our engagement in EIA includes developing scoping studies, designing and executing field programs, unifying baseline data across teams, developing risk assessments and working with multiple experts to complete robust, data-driven and defensible impact assessment, working with proponents to develop mitigation plans and authoring EIS reports. At the core of our EIA skill is deep technical understanding and first-hand field experience of responses of receptors to project pressures.

Crucially, our EIA experience is informed by our exposure to a broad range of stakeholders including local villagers, recreational and commercial fishers, public interest and NGO groups, and a range of regulatory agencies across multiple levels of government.
